Introduction

It was a quiet morning in the middle of summer.

Mommy was in the living room talking with one of her clients.

And, Princess RiverStar was in her room reading a new book that had her giggling and laughing every few minutes.

After a particularly loud round of laughter, there was a knock on her door.

At first, she thought that she had disturbed Mommy.

But, it didn’t feel like Mommy’s angry knock.

She opened the door to see Mommy and her client Posh waiting patiently and smiling.

‘Hi Mommy’ she said.

Mommy replied by asking her ‘How would you like to go to the zoo today?’

Posh’s daughter Lena is in town with her seven year old son Calvin and they are planning a trip to the zoo.

Yes! screamed Princess RiverStar!

While she could sense that some of the animals were unhappy being caged up, it was still one of her favorite places to go.

Great said Mommy, they will be here in an hour.

So, please be ready then.

Princess RiverStar quickly agreed thinking that she would finish the rest of the chapter she was reading then get dressed.

An hour later, she walked into the living room in a comfortable jeans outfit excited to visit the bears, giraffes, lions, penguins and all the other animals that she didn’t get to see regularly.

She knew that something was wrong when she saw that Mommy was still working with Posh and Posh’s daughter Lena and grandson Calvin weren’t there.

Mommy explained that Lena had called to say that they were running late.

They would not be there for another 30 minutes.

So, she was going to keep working with Posh until they got there.

Okay replied Princess RiverStar, I will go read some more until they get here.

That’s more than enough time to finish another chapter or two she thought.

Sounds good replied Mommy, I will let you know when they arrive.

Princess RiverStar returned to her room and picked up where she had left off reading.

It was a story about unicorns and she loved unicorns…
